This ad is in the WRONG publication. Gentlemans club?, alcohol sold on the other page? That's just silly.

Not sure about the headline - I don't want to read about a clinical study, I want to read about a solution. The photo is potentially too static - the guy is sitting - and not inclusive of target market (women) and of course placement and possibly type of publication (although we don't actually know what it is).

I am going to guess placement. Target ad should be in the top right corner.

Looks like the problem is ad placement - below the gentleman's club - that ad would definitely make people want to turn the page so it wouldn't look like they are looking at the club ad. I'm not sure how you would make sure that doesn't happen though? Michelle

I would consider a different picture. Someone happy and smiling does not match the same emotional response as neuropathy sufferers.
The placement of the ad under the gentlemen's club might not be so good, but unless the doctor requested or paid more money he might not have control over ad placement. Definitely do not run the ad next to the same advertiser.
There is no question in the headline. I'd make the headline an attention grabbing question.

Michael, we too get feedback like this from time to time. And, when they say an ad didn't work, it is not because of ROI, which often proves to be a great investment, but the equate quantity to quality of leads/patients.

Other issues:

1. Ad placement
2. Image Gender
3. Layout/Design
4. Branding

Of course, since the copy is blurred, unable to identify any issues with copy and how it may have impacted response.

I love your blog content, lots of good content. I've been wrestling with why I haven't purchased your ads yet...some days its money, some day its doubt...I guess it is just fear. I do lots of advertising that I write and don't track the ROI. I actually think my advertising sucks. I want to really purchase your advertising package...include me in your next special. ML
